Madalyn H. Maloney, 92, formerly of East Stroudsburg, died early Tuesday morning, July 31, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township where she has been a resident for several years. She was the widow of Homan J. Maloney.

Born April 24, 1915 in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith (Titus) Hanna and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

A graduate of Stroudsburg High School, she was the first Social News Editor at the Stroudsburg Record where she worked with Bobby Westbrook. She was also known as the "Wyckoff Shopper" on WVPO radio in Stroudsburg.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg.

She is survived by a son, James Maloney of East Stroudsburg; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. George "Tim" (Linda) Maloney of Sciota; two grandsons, Kyle Maloney and his wife, Sharry of Sciota and Israel David Parkinson in the U.S. Air Force; great grandchildren, Shane, Beth Ann, Matthew and Mya. She was preceded in death by a son, George "Tim" Maloney in 1992 and a daughter, Maura Parkinson-Holtz in 2000.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 10:30AM from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with the Rev. Chris Washington officiating. Burial will follow in Stroudsburg Cemetery. Cremation will have taken place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

Memorial remembrances may be made to the Pleasant Valley Manor Activity Fund, 4227 Manor Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
