John Christian Gardner, 70, of Tobyhanna, died Tuesday, October 22, at home.
Born on August 30, 1943 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Jeanne Lorraine (Hamann) Gardner and the late John Joseph Gardner.
He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from civil service at Tobyhanna Army Depot. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a golf attendant at SkytopLodge.
In his spare time he was a talented oil painter and loved to golf.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his sister, Patricia Gardner Parker of McHenry, MS; and two nephews, Justin and Maxwell Parker. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacqueline Gardner.
There will be a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30AM Friday, October 25, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 10:30AM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Shank officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
