Helen J. Lee, 85, formerly of Stroud Township, died Sunday, July 29, at The Meadows Healthcare Center at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook. She was the widow of Earl J. Lee with whom she shared 53 years of marriage at the time of his death May 4, 2001.

Born on July 10, 1927 in Daleville, she was a daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Miller) Jardine and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

She was a Bell Telephone operator from 1945 to 1957 and was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Stroud Township.

Surviving are four children, Jacqueline Miller and her husband, Dave of East Stroudsburg, Henry Lee and his wife, Susan of Coatesville, Matthias Lee and his wife, Donna of Nazareth and Zecillia Hulbert of Roswell, NM; nine grandchildren, Troy Miller, Jesse Lee, Jeremiah Thomson, Christi Lee, Landrie Lee, Chelsea Thomson, Lindsay Lee, Gina Corvino and Elizabeth Corvino; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her foster parents, Elmer and Viola London and two sisters, Elizabeth Stephens and Charlotte Smith.

There will be a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00AM Wednesday, August 1, at Faith United Methodist Church, Clause Drive, Stroudsburg. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Amy Banka officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
